NC DAP Online Course and Practice Tests

This online, self-paced course contains instructional information and sample tests to assist students who are preparing to take the NC DAP (North Carolina Diagnostic and Placement) test.

The program is divided into five areas:

  1. Introduction to the NC DAP

  2. Reading Comprehension Instruction and Practice Tests

  3. Writing Skills Instruction and Practice Tests

  4. Written Essay Instruction

  5. Mathematics Instruction and Practice Tests

The Reading Comprehension, Writing Skills, Written Essay, and Mathematics sections present the subject matter content included on the NC DAP. Each section begins with the information and skills needed. Then the section provides sample tests for your practice. Each sample test will be graded by the computer and you will have the opportunity to see the manner in which each item is correctly answered. We encourage you to begin with the section entitled, “Introduction to the NC DAP.” This section will introduce you to the course and offer suggestions on how to get the most out of the instruction and practice tests. The program is flexible, so after reading the introduction you can begin working through the material from the beginning covering all sections, or you can navigate to areas of specific need.

The area on the left contains a menu which you can use to guide your way through the course.

The white area on the right contains a series of pages providing you the information that is needed. At the end of each page, use the “Next” and “Previous” buttons to move from one page to the next.

The Sign Out link on the left allows you to stop working when necessary and pick up where you left off when you return. The program will automatically remember your location in the course so you can easily find it when you sign in for more study.

You may need to review everything or you may only need portions of this program. Whatever the case, use the menu at your left or just click the “Next” button below to begin.
