Introduction to the PLACE Basic Skills Test

The Program for Licensing Assessments for Colorado Educators (PLACE) Basic Skills Test (90) is a standardized achievement test that measures selected communication and mathematics skills found to be important for the job of an educator. This online course is designed to meet the needs of any student who is preparing for the PLACE.

Students are challenged by tests in reading, mathematics, and writing. The objectives for all tests were established by subject area specialists using a process that included extensive literature review, interviews with public school teachers, a large-scale survey of teachers, and pilot tests.

This program is designed around the content objectives of the PLACE. The instruction sections and sample tests directly relate to the information provided by the official PLACE Web site, www.place.nesinc.com. Although this course is complete in terms of test preparation, there is an obvious need for prior completion of college course work upon which the PLACE depends.
