Introduction to the ELM

The Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) examination is designed to assess the mathematics skill levels of entering CSU students.

Because the ELM is a placement test, how well you do on the test will determine whether or not you are placed in a regular, college-level mathematics course or in a remedial mathematics course.

This program is designed around the content objectives of the ELM. The instruction sections and sample tests directly relate to the information provided by the official ELM website, www.ets.org. Although this course is complete in terms of test preparation, there is an obvious need for prior completion of high school course work upon which the ELM depends.
